Lore

Every witch has an origin

Bass Witch. Spell Producer. Event Alchemist. Denver-made, underground-raised.

The origin

From locked doors to dark rooms

The first spell was cast in 2020, when the whole world went quiet and a pair of graduation-gift decks refused to.

With the clubs shuttered, Spella did what witches do: made her own circle. DIY raves conjured in whatever spaces would hold them, warehouse corners and basements and borrowed rooms, taught her the first law of the craft: the room is the instrument. Play it honestly and people will follow you anywhere.

Denver's bass underground took notice. The Black Box, the city's flagship altar for low-end music, became home ground, with Spella returning again and again as a resident-level regular. The circle widened to Cervantes' Other Side and The Church Nightclub, where a live set caught on tape still circulates like a relic.

Then came Spella & Friends, her own ritual series. Love Spell on a February full of longing; Verspell as the thaw broke; Hexed Harvest and Spellaween when the veil wore thin. Handpicked lineups, live painters working the walls, and sacred space held for whoever needed it. Event alchemy, practiced in public.

The production followed the performance: Hexed landed on the Subciety label, with Unveil and more workings pressed to the SoundCloud grimoire. Genre-fluid by conviction; the spell decides its own shape. Next on the wheel: Badger Music & Arts Festival at Badger Ranch, Hartsel, CO, August 13. The craft continues.
